On 21st February, we celebrated the International Mother Tongue Day. On this occasion, the students of Class 2b prepared a happening. The school students participated in a competition of the knowledge about phraseology and grammar structures. Additionally, the youngest students – representatives of Year 1, had to cope with the so-called ‘tongue-twisters’. Frankly speaking, for the most part they managed to read difficult verbal combinations without any mistakes. We could also listen to nice performances of our school singers: Kamila Kamocka and Emilia Jaxy - Kwiatkowska, who prepared songs that required excellent diction. Each of the competition participants received a small gift. At the end, the Principal announced the results of the Monday dictation. It was Kornel Celoch, who became the Champion of Spelling (for the second time), followed by: Paulina Skura and Mateusz Błaszczyk. Congratulations!
This mysterious title covers a popular science show, watched by the students of Class 1c during a trip to the Planetarium in Łódź. It was an extraordinary lesson about the beginnings of aviation, enriched with curiosities associated with the dream of a human to fly to the skies. After the presentation, the students went to Teatr Powszechny [Common Theater] to enjoy the performance of the play by Edward Taylor entitled “A Wife Needed Immediately”.
On Tuesday, 14th February, during the school assembly, a new President of the Students’ Council was introduced to the school community. The Minutes of the completion of counting the votes was read and it confirmed that the highest number of votes went to Konrad Czapliński of Class 1a, the runner up was Katarzyna Rosińska of Class 1b, and the subsequent candidates were Przemysław Maj and Natalia Koprek. After the announcement of the results student Konrad Czapliński stated that because he was not able to combine the school responsibilities and his duties after school, he resigned from being the President, passing the office to Katarzyna Rosińska. So we have a new President of the Student’s Council. The School Principal expressed her thankfulness to the former members of the Students’ Council for their commitment, creativity and a willingness to act for the benefit of our school community. The new President presented her initial action plan to all the students. We wish to the young school Students’ Council members undying enthusiasm and perseverance in the implementation of the intended projects.
